SkyTrax Top Airlines of 2022 Event!

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 02 Jan 2023 02:40

EVENT COMPLETED

Happy New Year! Having trouble engaging the reverse thrust to slow down from a busy holiday travel season? It's never easy to make that transition but we're here to help bring you back into the air!

Members can enjoy a back-to back event to kick off the new Year! (also don't forget about the Round the World Event!)

AirSource is proud to announce the Third Annual SkyTrax World Airline Awards Event! What is it? Taking the top 10 airlines of 2022 as announced by SKYTRAX, AirSource Pilots shall enjoy the routes of their choice, utilizing all 10 airlines in consecutive flights.

Sound easy? It might be, depending on the top 10 airlines for the particular year. Every one of the top 10 airlines must be utilized one time (in any order) for a total of 10 consecutive flights; departure airport must be the same airport as the last one landed. Members may utilize any scheduled or special crew pass flight in the system as long as it is the matching airline and departure/arrival string.

 These are the 10 airline codes for this years event, all 10 must be utilized (list is in order form #10 to #1, however airline/flight order can be any order as long as last arrival is next departure airport): SWR, KAL, AFR, THY, JAL, QFA, ANA, UAE, SIA, QTR

 Event runs from 2 JAN 2023 until 2 APR 2023.

Personal note, I tried to come up with a schedule to fly the top 10 airlines in reverse order (from #10 to #1) but got stuck (stranded) on Japan airlines. CHALLENGE: If someone (or more than one) can somehow achieve this within the event guidelines, you will be gifted a GA aircraft of your choice! (Why GA? Because after the amount of miles you will fly for this event, you'll likely want a General Aviation "escape" after the event!)

:!: IMPORTANT! PIREP comments for all flights must include “Skytrax2022” to assist in filtering the flights for validation and award issuing.

Pilots who complete this event will earn the 2022 SkyTrax award logo in their logbook along with a v$10,000 bonus! Let us all lift off 2023 with a celebration of the top airlines of last year, good luck!

If you didn't want to do a classic Swiss flight, you could do many others like SWR 40 LSZH-KLAX then KAL 18 KLAX-RKSI and then as above.

Please remember, the 10 flights must be of the top 10 airlines of 2022 - so Classic Swiss will not register when the system audits flights. The valid 10 airlines are: SWR, KAL, AFR, THY, JAL, QFA, ANA, UAE, SIA, QTR

I can't edit my post, so if you wouldn't mind deleting :) I'm trying everything I can think of. What about cargo flights for the airline in question? For example AFR and THY have cargo flights under the same call sign.

Hello Howard,

It is a good question so I feel better we leave the post, and regarding the cargo flights as long as it is the same airline that should be fine. Although stretching it a bit (since it is a SkyTrax passenger voted award) but it's ok!

Hi all! Event extended until 2 APR 2023. Not because anyone requested that, just because I am really behind and have been super busy LOL  . Also for anyone who has not been able to participate this gives a few more weeks :D

That give us all chance to re-do this wonderful event once again LOL

For #10 to #1 challenge - key is flight Turkish airlines LTMF>>RJTT - that was the only way, how to connect Air France, Turkish and JAL

Not sure what was better - the planning or the execution? :)

Hi, is it possible to extend the deadline for this event by a few weeks. I would really like to have a go at it but have run out of time.
Thanks for the consideration.
Regards, Simon.

Is the reverse order starting with QTR and ending with SWR?
