I was spotting some AI a/c near LIRF (Italy) and I notice that the ATC traffic was massive...
Open the pics in a separate window/tab and click "full size" on the bottom part of the screen for more clarity.
Pic-1: I spotted them first at FL280 less than 1nm apart.

Pic-2: At FL210 I noticed that they started to form a line preparing for initial approach.
