Old timer reminisces about ASHA

Postby iang77 » 21 Oct 2019 04:30

Hey, fellow AirSource pilots. It's been quite some time since I was here on the forums/website. Just wondering who from the old days remember AirSource's humanitarian division, ASHA. I have fond memories of being a Schedule Development Officer and creating flights to assist in humanitarian missions around the globe. Africa was my territory before the division was shut down. Those flights and pilots were some of the fondest FlightSim memories I have.

Anyway, forgive me for my nostalgia. Would love to hear from some of the old timers on their memories of ASHA!

So it appears all the old ASHA folks have left AirSource? That's too bad. Lots of good times with those folks.

Hi Ian

I remember ASHA , did a few repaints for the fleet but never really got into the flying aspect of ASHA . It was a nice little feature at Airsource for sure , sadly missed . Maybe it could make a come back !!

Sadly Roger Dean is no longer with us who was a big part of ASHA

Great to hear from you, Lee. I did hear about Roger, and was saddened by that news. I always enjoyed my interactions with him, Lee Skorna, Mark Richards, Roger Pilgrem, and others.

ASHA was probably the most vibrant community here at AirSource. I was sad to see it go.

Hi,

I am still active here. I fly a lot, but PIREP my flights all at the same time. I also check the forums on a regular basis.

Oooooh, the good ol' days. ASHA in its prime. Lots of repaint from Andre, tonnes of flights to fly. I even pushed out a few wildfire sceneries.

*sigh* Wish I still had some of the movies and screenshots from back then.

I still have most of the old ASHA repaints. WIth the new FS2020, its possible ASHA may return in a different form... something i've been thinking about, but I don't have FS2020 yet... waiting for the cooldown to happen lol

I used to fly the ASHA flights, i really enjoyed them. I was out of AirSource for a while, changed my email address and missed the call to log in and save my listing, so had to re-join and start my career again.

I really enjoyed the ASHA flights. I've been a medic for 26 years, a lot of that time was in critical care transport. I flew a couple times. It was fun to sit "up front" and see the other side.
