GA Aircraft Purchase Now Available!

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 01 Jun 2019 00:05

Members can now purchase their own GA Aircraft in the General Aviation area! If you have enough funds and the aircraft is available, you will be able to purchase GA Aircraft (up to a limited number depending on how long you have been a member). The advantages to owning your own GA Aircraft are numerous, but a couple obvious things are that (1) you will no longer need to pay the hourly lease fees, (2) No other member can book your aircraft for flights. Future enhancements will be made where members can sell back their GA aircraft to AirSource (of course less depreciated value), and ability to upload a screenshot of your aircraft (if I can get that to work on the server!).

How to purchase? Just head in to the GA Division then view aircraft / details and if the aircraft is available for sale there is a link in the "Aircraft Owner" information area. Start by looking at the aircraft master list here: http://air-source.us/Operations/asga/viewac.asp

Hi Paul,

The easiest way right now to view your own aircraft is when on the "view aircraft" page within the GA division http://air-source.us/Operations/asga/viewac.asp

There is a pull down box toward top of table "Quick Search", open that and "view my privately owned aircraft only". I do not see that you own any aircraft nor were charged for any.

In order to purchase an aircraft, you will first need to get to the aircraft details page. Here is an example: http://air-source.us/Operations/asga/vi ... asp?id=804

From this page, if the aircraft is eligible for purchase there is a link called "View Purchase Options" in the 4th row down on left column. Once you click that you will then be presented with Purchase Details for the aircraft (you have NOT purchased the aircraft yet at this stage). If everything checks out (you have enough funds, you have enough "hangar spaces", and the aircraft does not have any open flight plans), then there is a link at the bottom area of the table that says "Purchase this Aircraft for $Vxxxx. Once you click that link you will have purchased the aircraft.

Also a note about "Hangar Spaces" available: 1 GA aircraft allowed in hangar per year as member and any member with less than 1 year membership is allowed 1 aircraft.. Purchase price discounts are calculated depending upon number of years as member along with other factors such as age of aircraft, # of hours on aircraft, etc. This is why if there are a large number of the same aircraft available it might be best to "shop around"!

Actually yes you were charged, however this aircraft is quite old so only charged $76.11 total. On the flight view details screen toward bottom you will see the charges per hour and total charge calculations: http://air-source.us/operations/logbook ... tid=366612

PayPer Hour ($46.60) x TimeFlown 1.6333 [98 mins] = ($76.11)

Also, you can view any transactions on your account via your logbook page link on left side "My Pay Log".

The transaction is on top: http://air-source.us/operations/logbook ... ?PILNO=220

Hope this helps!

Can you copy/paste the link in your browser when on the purchase page?

Ok, but all I need is the link to the page like this: http://air-source.us/Operations/asga/pu ... sp?id=1278

This way I know which aircraft you're trying to purchase and I can test to see if I can reproduce your results. But a screenshot should actually be better since I can then see exactly what you're seeing.

Got it. Fixed a small problem but seemed unrelated. Per my reply e-mail I was able to purchase under your pilot # but used KMIA as home airport. Perhaps it was the home airport you were choosing causing the problem..What airport did you want this aircraft to be for home airport?

Also there may be other errors lingering, testing was somewhat limited. Please let me know (that's goes for everyone) if you're having problems I will get it fixed up!
