New AirStocks Virtual Airline Eligibility Test

Since it hasn't been clear to all what conditions are being checked in order to have a virtual airline stock either added or removed from the AirStocks system, I've added the actual tests being performed on every airline's details page. Now you are able to view an airline???s current state of AirStocks eligibility and determine if the airline will soon be added or if it is in danger of being removed soon for no longer meeting the minimum requirements. There are three simple tests that are being performed at this time, which are the 1. number of pilots, 2. number of flights, and 3. amount of hours, which are compared against preset minimums. The minimum requirements may be changed over time as needed.

The main reasons for having minimum requirements is to try to lessen the amount of server activity needed by only including airlines that are actively flown, and to try to give some level of stock price protection to the investors of an airline. By requiring a minimum number of pilots, flights, and hours, the airline???s stock price impact may be reduced when one or more pilots are removed from AirSource by choice or not able to stay current. So if an airline is removed from AirStocks, it is to be looked at as a protective measure for you as an investor. If an airline that was removed later regains activity levels that meet or exceed the minimum requirements, it can be re-added to AirStocks.

The following screenshot is an example of ASHA's eligibility test results as shown on ASHA's airline detail page as of 5/16/2006.

Best regards,
John
