Hey Tom
I appreciate the helpful installing tips from Christian Nielsen (Thank You), but I cannot get my new computer to accept the "MyAAS" program.
I am now using Windows 7 instead of XP and I am trying to understand the differences from the OS.
I will continue to try each day until I get re-connected to AAS or I will be heart broken.
I have been over 90 days without a computer. Now that this new QuadCore i7 Monster arrived yesterday, I have been trying to get back on AAS to file a flight so that I will not be 'banned for life' or something to that affect!
Pray for me.
Don

Hi,

Not sure what messages you are getting, but keep all your FS stuff out of the Program Files folder. Make sure you are signed in under the Administrator account and make sure the firewall is not blocking MyAAS.

Hi Don

I see from your post that you are now getting / using a i7 processor motherboard. I am guessing that MyAAS should run perfectly on the i7 but I will try to confirm that in the next week on a machine here.

Please could you tell me which version of Windows 7 (professional, Ultimate, et al) you are using and also whether it is the 32 bit or the 64 bit version?

Regards

Christian Nielsen

Hey Christian
I will start your instructions from the start because I probably missed a step when I was flipping back and forth between screens.
My new computer:
Windows 7 Pro
Intel i7-930 @ 2.80 GHz
Memory 12.0 GB
OS 64-bit
I have printed your .PDF Instruction Sheet and I will follow it step-by-step this morning.
I just don't want to mess-up my computer by installing something incorrectly.
I do appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks again
Don

Hey Christian
Previously: "I have printed your .PDF Instruction Sheet and I will follow it step-by-step this morning."

I realized my mistake by not following your instructions. I did not include the "\MyAAS.exe" on the end of the path.
I logged a flight this morning to Austin from Dallas and I just completed the PIREP. I verified the flight in my Flight Log and I am getting paid again! This is so cool!
I will try and remember how to take a Personal Flight, but now I am good to go!
Thank you so much! I am Happy!
Take Care
Don

If it helps I have been running MyAAS without incident for many months on a couple Win 7 Home Premium - 64 bit systems, one of which is an i7.

Hey Tom
You said, "AASistance Christian". Now that was a great thought and comment!
After 3 months without a computer, I am so glad that I am back flying with AAS. This is such a great place to fly!
Take Care and Thanks again!
