First Flight in LOOOOONG Time - HTTP 500 Error on PIREP

Postby sonjamichelle » 18 May 2021 12:26

As the title says, this was my first flight in a looooong time. I kind of forgot how to use myAAs. I started my flight but for got to do the "second step" of actually starting the record flight function. Sooo, I lost about 20 minutes of flight time.

The flight was from KGEU to KSEZ, with a "mostly successful" landing (had to go around), yeah yeah I'm a bit rusty. anyhoo when I went to PIREP the screen that opened gave me a 500 error.

I don't know if it was a result of an error on my part or a DB/WebSite issue. I did save the myAAS2.db just in case.

Ahhhhh, that pesky website acting up again.

I did hear that there was a big godaddy outage that took out lots of sites recently.

I'll try the PIREP again. I have a flight planned for this evening from KSEZ to KAFW in the Cessna Caravan. Some more rust shaking before I do a scheduled flight. Gotta pay for all those GA flights I enjoy, hehe.

++++ UPDATE ++++

Nope still a nogo as of 5/18/2021 16:29 Central US Time.

I did delete all the entries in my rather restrictive hosts file to see if some server was blocked. Didn't help.

I redownloaded myAAS from the pilot operations page too, got a wrong database format error.

Here is a comparison of the two files:

Image

The one on the right is the original one I used last night and again today (Downloaded from the forum link)

The left is the one I downloaded from the Pilot Operations link and gave me the db error.

Is there still yet another newer version hidden somewhere?

Maybe we will just have to trash this flight for now, "delete" the db and try with a fresh run and flight.

++++ UPDATE 2 ++++

I did a manual PIREP from the Flight page to clear out the flight. Then "deleted" the local db (renamed the extension).

Logged back into myAAS. I will try another PIREP with tonight's flight and see what happens.

Thanks Tom! I'll give it a try. Assuming I can get spad.next, my controls and MSFS2020 to cooperate again.

Worked like a charm!

Thanks again Tom.

I do have to add that in order for it to connect to FSUIPC on my system I need to run it as administrator. Probably because FSUIPC is also running as administrator in order to allow connections from WideFS on another PC. Even though my firewall is disabled and there are even port/program entries in the firewall settings. *shrug*

That's a windows thing. Programs running as administrator can not communicate with ones that aren't (and vice versa)

Thanks for getting this, Tom

Yeah, I SHOULD know that, but over the years my IT-fu has waned a bit. Use it or Loose it they say.
