HUMANITARIAN: New Zealand Earthquake Swarm
Posted: 21 Jul 2013 08:43On Saturday 20 July 2013 and Sunday 21 July 2013, New Zealand has been stuck by a swarm of over 200 earthquakes centred around the centre of the country. The largest earthquake felt just after 17:00 NZST on Sunday 21 July 2013 measured 6.9 on the Richter scale and reports have been received of minor damage to building and property.
AirSource have been called on to assist the RNZAF in moving troops and equipment from RNZAF Base Whenupai to RNZAF Base Ohaeka and Woodbourne in the C130 Hercules, Boeing 757-200 and Beechcraft Kingair aircraft.
