Hi Mark,

Just a quick note to say the Jean Batten Footstep event was really enjoyable, completely different to the normal flying done on Airsource, very nostalgic and takes you back to pilots had to actually fly aeroplanes.

Thank you for arranging such a good event, i enjoyed the trip

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a great 2013

Paul

Thanks Paul, so glad you enjoyed it and yes, for the few legs that I managed, it was a lot of fun.

Mark, thanks for the Batten flights...fun flyin those oldies!
Was unaware of her accomplishments until your flights
came up. I learned a thing or two. Especially how she
didn't take any parachute, life raft or vest and no radio,
....in a single engine aircraft with just a watch & simple
compass! WOW, she was one gutsy 25 year old chick!
Anything going into our logbooks for these enjoyable
flights?...Thanks for your effort. I added this video
link of a 3 part New Zealand 1988 tv documentary of
all her exploits but most of all, the unusual circumstances
of her death & reclusive bizzare life style.
