PROJECT GOOD SAMARITAN

Postby AS37 Norm Edwards » 08 Sep 2012 13:15

As promised after the completion of Operation Hermes, a project has commenced titled PROJECT GOOD SAMARITAN. The aim of Project GOOD SAMARITAN is to review the ASHA Division as a result of its recent closure. The Project Manager is Norm Edwards, AirSource President, with all members of the Executive Management Team (EMT) as project team members. At various stages throughout the Project, other rostered pilots will be asked to assist with different phases as they arise.

Project GOOD SAMARITAN will be conducted in four phases:

Phase 1: Determining whether there is a place for Humanitarian flight tasking at AirSource, defining what a Humanitarian flight task is, and, determining what the operating mission would be for a Humanitarian flight tasking system if it was to exist as a component within AirSource.

Phase 1 is open to input by all rostered pilots. Input is restricted to the three elements above and
will run for one calendar month at which time the forum thread will be moved to an EMT forum for review.

Phase 2: EMT will consider the feedback provided by members in Phase 1. This review will be conducted over an estimated period of two months. It is in Phase 2 where a decision will be made by EMT whether to have a humanitarian flight tasking element continue in the future makeup of AirSource.

Phase 3: This Phase will only proceed if it is decided by EMT to pursue having a humanitarian flight tasking element in AirSource. The focus of Phase 3 will be upon the determination of structure and command elements (if required).

Phase 4: Setup and implementation of Phase 3 (as required).

It is requested that all rostered pilots think about the statements posted at Phase 1 and contribute in a respectful and considerate manner and are reminded of the forum posting rules that all members agree to by virtue of posting in the forums. Phase 1 will NOT be about posting disagreements about what others opinions might be. The questions asked will be quite clear and to the point and members are requested to think about this when they contribute in addition to respecting the opinions that others express.

I and other members of the EMT look forward to seeing what you all have to say.

PROJECT GOOD SAMARITAN: UPDATE.

Phase 1 of this project is now completed. Thank you to all members who provided their submissions and contributed to the project thus far.

The Project will now enter Phase 2 where EMT will consider the submissions and take an overall strategic analysis of those submissions in addition to other elements that EMT only are privy to. It is expected that Phase 2 will last for approximately two months (+/-) and will report back its conclusions and determination whether Phase 3 of the Project will proceed.
