[Solved]Unable to Fly Simulator

MyActive AirSource (MyAAS) is the program used by AirSource members to record their flight time. Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator and (free) version of FSUIPC. MyAAS 2 is programmed by AS 201 Joe Hamilton, and is always being reviwed for new features.

[Solved]Unable to Fly Simulator

Postby Lairyliam » 29 Oct 2014 00:53

Hi Guys.

Wonder if you can help.

My AAS has stopped talking to FS9 and Fsuipc.

Running FS9.1 on WIndows 7 with Fsuipc 3999z8

I had it working for awhile, on a reinstall since July, but since i updated recently to the new update OF fSUIPC (and AAS2.2003) i cant get it to work.

I keep getting the same message. "unable to find simulator"

I have tried everything that i can think of, Reinstalling Fsuipc and AAS but to no avail.

When i install FSUiPC i not that the registry to the path fs 9.1 doesn't update, (it cant find it) but the path to fs9 9.0 does.

I have hunted around the big G to see if i can find a solution, but can't

Any suggestions.

Cheers.

Does FSUIPC show up in your FS?

Hi Liam-

Try this from Flight1 to fix your registry path. http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe

Then try re-installing FSUIPC again and see if it helps.

Hi @Jim, Yes, its fully working, and registered.

Sorry @Joe. i found this solution from a post on this thread June or July, Sorry, I should have said that i tried this earlier tonight to no avail.

I Have Tried again to doubly check, and the same happens. Its almost like that AAS cannot see the file path. I suspect it is on my end rather than your program, and the way something has gone in, This PC/flightsim thing has been a pain in the :!: :!: :!: Since leaving behind Win XP.

Anyway. i'm starting to think that the only thing i can do (for the 5th time this year is uninstall the whole thing and start again.

Unless you have any other Ideas? - Thanks for your time.

Do you have any other add ons that rely on fsuipc (even a free one to try and download/install)?

Also what happens if you try to access fsuipc in the fs9 menu, does everything operate as it should?

A good call, Tom. That would narrow it down.

My Yoke and peddles do, they operate as normal. I use Fs Build and Active Sky Evoloution.

AS far as i can see fsupic works ok with the sim

Any suggestions on a program that would use it? I dont use much else.

- Just tried The UTOPIA, and that cannot connect, - Which points at FSUIPC... Looks like another maybe another install then! #groan

any suggestions on progams to try and see if we can fault fsupic??

Personally, I would first, try and un-install fsuipc again. I hate the re-install path myself. Make sure, after you uninstall, that all traces of FSUIPC are removed from your c:\flightsim\modules folder (except for FSUIPC.key if you have a paid version). Download the newest version, z9 I think it is, and try install that.

Also, make sure you are running FS and myaas, utopia, etc. at the same access level. You might have FS to run "as Administrator" but the other stuff not.

Dude.... You hit the nail on the head... your last comment about that annoying "Run as administrator" that seems so annoyingly pointless is to blame.

read you comment and it made me wonder if it was only FS was running as admin for some reason and so I run AAS as admin, and its worked, ( at least a step further than usual) have to get the nippers to bed first, but will test soonest and report back.

I am just hoping that this isn't in the FAQ and iv been a naughty simmer and not RTFM like one sees so often in the community!! "

Currently climbing to FL340 with AAS tracking. I guess it needs to be run as administrator.

Sorry if iv missed that out on your notes.

You can lock this thread now if you so wish.

To be honest, that is the first time I have seen that make any difference. Guess I'll move it up in the troubleshooting steps :)

Glad it worked and you are up and running.
