New Version 05/19

MyActive AirSource (MyAAS) is the program used by AirSource members to record their flight time. Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator and (free) version of FSUIPC. MyAAS 2 is programmed by AS 201 Joe Hamilton, and is always being reviwed for new features.

New Version 05/19

Postby AS201 Joe » 19 May 2012 18:04

New version posted-

changes include:
  • a basic flight points recorder (Tom knows). *See below
  • when resetDB is selected, flights that have already been flown will be preserved
  • added checkbox to Upload Flights results dialog to remove flights marked as already filed
  • added checks to detect expiration of time sensitive flights. Will show expired and will not be able to be flown (works right now, I'll have to re-test when DST ends). Yes, I know the times are in GMT.

For the flight points, After a flight has been saved a message box will pop up showing the number of points recorded. If you would please submit this value and your departure/destination airports into the stickied topic above we would highly appreciate it.

Thanks
Joe

*** Note: sorry I was cluttering up the forum with new versions. Think I'll do it this way for now on. Newest version can always be downloaded from the topic above.

Excellent Joe! Off to downloading and some test time tonight - I also hope to start up a PIREP page to test.

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I didn't break anything while playing with the code.

It's looking good so far, I'm just climbing out of PHNL for PANC and flight's recording and showing up as online.

That's weird as it all looks AOK from the Captain's seat... Silly ACARS sending the data back to base

Joe

Flight completed but MyAAS2 stopped working three times in the six hours. It came up with a message saying "Unable to connect to Database". I was able to stop and resume the flight without issues and it showed the correct time and distance and when online, the icon correctly started displaying in the correct place.

I'm now at the gate and getting the same message Tom did the other day where MyAAS2 thinks the flight is in progress and despite being at the gate and shut down, I cannot "end" the flight.

Well, crud. Let me have a look at the database code here. On a good note, at least the resuming of flight works. Same as for Tom, if you slew up a little, un-slew for a second, then slew again back to the ground, End Flight should be enabled.

Darn, was waiting to see how many flight points were recorded for that flight. Unfortunately, noting about them is saved anywhere yet.

New Version 05/19

Yes I too was waiting to see what the flight points were. Will have to try the slew trick tomorrow night after work. Or might just have to go fly a circuit in the 73. Will try to load the same fuel so it doesn't get confused.

Actually, my bad. Forgot to check the flight stage when resuming a saved flight. New build should enable the End Flight for you.

As for the flight points, right now it will just be a number. The plan is to use them and plot your flight path on a google map. (Not sure if that was top secret information or not).

Is the flying online setup supposed to be working? Given i'm a bit of a DF procedurally wise with this can you Joe write up a Step 1 to Step Zillion in what the actual procedure is from whoa to go if using MyAAS2? I did just try it but the online didn't show on the website (although i selected it in the pulldown) and the pirep ended up i'm not sure where. The flight did appear to upload which i duly did but what happened after that i'm not sure.

Hey Norm, you can get a quick write-up for the procedure here -> http://jbham.net/myAASV2_Manual.pdf.

BTW, was that flight from OOMS-OOIZ? If so, then File->Pirep Flights should be enabled (only if you are using the 05/20 build). Select that to finish the reporting process.

Not sure why on-line mode didn't work for you. Just downloaded it and tries, works fine here. Maybe try to go to Options->Maintenance->Edit Pilot Info... and click ok to re-fresh your pilot number. You probably already know this, but just as a reminder, you won't show up on the live map until you have over a minute of flight time (just another thought)
