First Flight

MyActive AirSource (MyAAS) is the program used by AirSource members to record their flight time. Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator and (free) version of FSUIPC. MyAAS 2 is programmed by AS 201 Joe Hamilton, and is always being reviwed for new features.

First Flight

OK, just completed my first flight in MyAAS2 and as I said in my Email, I'm VERY impressed.

  • Flight in FSX
  • Flying a GA flight EGPF-EGPH
  • Used WideFS
  • Flying PAYWARE Cera Bell 222 Helicopter
  • Flew online on VATSIM as G-NOIR
  • Windows 7 64bit

  1. Installed without issue
  2. Had not booked flight before starting
  3. Booked flight and refreshed and found my flight as expected
  4. Took me a second to see the menu to start the flight but found it when I opened my eyes a little
  5. Good GUI, love it
  6. Distance recorded accurately
  7. Altitude showed accurately
  8. Fuel looked fine
  9. Speed was on the money
  10. Flight stopped no issues
  11. Flight viewable in the Pirep Viewer

Love the "always on top" issue and think it will look fine on the menu bar if I don't use WideFS.

Question for Tom: If we can't upload flight data, what happens for bookings that have an expiry date?? (GA and BID and ASHA flights)

I can see about manually adjusting the server database so that the expirations chnage to a date further out. I would need your flight data (division, dep/arr, airline)

I tested an ASHA flight with a C130E CaptSim OSLK-HESH. Started up ok, downloaded the flight, flew however when I uploaded back to the database, in the View My Flights in ASHA, the flight isn't deleted and the logbook isn't updated, therefore the stats don't update and the ASHA flying hours therefore don't either. Apart from this, ran sweetly! The PIREPViewer shows no reports so I'm wondering where it went (i'll do a manual pirep?).

We will need to write a procedural post in forums for pilots to follow ie step 1, 2, 3 before flying and steps after (maybe I didn't follow it right myself!). Great programme tho.

Norm - I believe it's working as advertised ;) The flight uploading portion is not yet complete. Nor will it show you "on line"...yet!

Just completed a flight using MyAAS2.

???Flight in Windows 7 64 bit with regional settings Dutch (country and land) and FSX
???Flying an ASHA flight KMCO-SKBO with a day change at 0.00
???Used A330-200F

Installation and booking with refresh ok.
I also found it easy to use.
All entities seems to be correct, only two remarks:
- During descend the altitude of MyAAS2 was about 200-300 higher than the airplane showed, but when ended the descend everything was correct again
- Secondly I was a little bit confuse about remaining ground time: the time itself was correct but it starts with 50 minutes and I thought is should be 60 minutes , but I can be wrong.

Flight was correct in the Pirep Viewer.

Henk

Ground time has been 50mins since MyAAS was introduced. 60 mins was the old AAS programme time.

If this happens again, could you check to see what Flight Simulator has for altitude (using Shift-Z). Not sure what you use for weather, but could, maybe, just be that the area you were over during descent had a different barometric pressure than the area you had it set for. Sounds good anyway. But, myAAS2 and FS should have the same reading.

Glad the program seems to be working ok and sorry about the uploading mix up.

Joe

Did another test with the CRJ-701 from ZGHA to ZGKL, and now I checked the altitude of MyAAS2 with FSX using shift-Z and everything is equal.
In this plane the altitude of the instruments of the plane were higher during descent then FSX and MyAAS2, so it must be an small error in those instruments.

Everything was correct with MYAAS2!!
