The Chief of Staff is expected to:

1. Run the daily droid programme

2. Mentor newly promoted Airlift Lieutenants

3. At least two times per week visit the Officers Club promotions area to identify requests for promotion upto and including the rank of A6 and advise approval/non-approval within the seven day allowable assessment period

4. Administer the ASHA pilot manual making draft amendments (bi-annualy) to the actual document prior to Division Commander approval

5. Administer the SDO training and SOP manual making draft amendments (bi-annualy) to the actual document prior to Division Commander approval

6. Make recommendations to the Division Commander regarding disciplinary matters involving ASHA pilots

7. Schedule aircraft maintenance ferry flights iaw the aircraft profile page and when such maintenance are due. Aircraft grounded specifically for maintenance should only be unavailable for maintenance for one week.

8. Arrange for replacement coverage for SDO absences in consultation with other Regional Wing Commanders.

9. Provide coverage for regional Wing Commander posts during their planned absenses should the Deputy Division Commander also be absent.


These duties are not meant to be exhaustive and may be adjusted by the Division Commander as required.
