Report of the commander

Greetings everyone and welcome to the ASHA News. This is the newsletter of the month April 2012.
First of all the Command Team, as presented above, is changed in the month of April.
Unfortunately Roger Pilgrem has become very ill, and had to resign. Then Steve Klinebriel had to step down a while because real life things precede. We had to rearrange the positions within the ASHA team and I???m very happy that everybody was willing to take some extra or other tasks to continue everything. A few positions are temporary. This all happened during the last weeks of April and again thanks to all the team members for their cooperation in this difficult time.
The new responsibilities and tasks are now:

Wing A Europe (Roger Dean, Wing Commander)*
- Europe (Roger Dean, SDO)*
- Middle East (Norm Edwards, SDO)*
- Asia (John Iverson, SDO)
- Oceania (John Iverson, SDO)*
- Henk van de Meeberg helps Europe or Oceania if necessary*

Wing B America/Africa (Ian Guenther, Wing Commander)
- North America (Mike Padgett, SDO)*
- South America (Mike Padgett, SDO)
- Africa (Ian Guenther, SDO)

* temporary assignments until an SDO can be found

After the bad month of March, April shows almost the same. The total flying hours increased, but it is still not the level of the first months of 2012.
Below you see some statistics of the two months. First you see the numbers of April and between parentheses March.

Usage of the day in hours: 1.5 (0.9)
Average flight in hours: 3.2 (2.4)
Hours/month: 1109.1 (651.8)
Hours/month only by SDOs: 310.3 (396.1)
Hours/month only by pilots: 798.8 (255.7)
Flights/month: 270 (411)
Flights/month only by SDOs: 125 (321)
Flights/month only by pilots: 145 (180)

The SDOs and Wing Commanders did their job again, but almost at the same level as the previous month. Below you see what they created in April (between parentheses the number of March):

Missions: 9 (9)
Flights: 132 (143)

Also promotions and awards are minimal, but that???s mostly depending on the numbers of flights or hours the pilots fly during this and the previous month..

But let???s conclude:
It was again one of the lowest months looking at the statistics.
A special call: Pilots! If you want to help this wonderful ASHA division, don???t hesitate and give me a message.
You???ve seen that we need new SDOs in the team!!!!!
