Report of the commander

Greetings everyone and welcome to the ASHA News. This is the already the newsletter of the month February 2012.
February was a little bit short, only 29 days, but the results of all the work of the SDOs and flying in general was good. Below you see some statistics of the two months and you see that especially the pilots flied less during February. First you see the number of February and between parentheses January.

Usage of the day in hours: 2.0 (2.3)
Average flight in hours: 3.4 (3.1)
Hours/month: 1,399.7 (1,732.5)
Hours/month only by SDOs: 864.1 (811.3)
Hours/month only by pilots: 535.6 (921.2)
Flights/month: 411 (560)
Flights/month only by SDOs: 321 (270)
Flights/month only by pilots: 180 (290)

The SDOs and Wing Commanders did a wonderful job again. Without all their hard work and dedication none of this would be possible. Below you see what they created (between parentheses the number of January):

Missions: 18 (12)
Flights: 294 (248)

Also promotions and awards are minimal, but during January you probably saw the result of all the flying during the days of Christmas and New Year, while February was a quiet month.
We will see what March is bringing.

A personal remark: I was very surprised and honoured getting the highest AirSource Award, the AirSource Honour Medal, together with my colleague Mark Richards, Vice President Bid Flight Division. Thanks again for this award.
And thanks to all of you, the ASHA pilots, who continue to fly our flights within the Division. Your dedication and effort is what keeps us going when times get tough. Remember that we are trying to provide relief for worldwide disasters, even though in a simulated world.
