I'm proud to announce that AirSource One has landed
and Norm Edwards, AirSource President, has safely arrived to Atlanta.
According to the schedule, we departed OOMS for Cairo on Friday, 06:00 GMT.
Route:
OOMS (RWY 08 ) DCT MIBSI P899 ROVOS G462 BALUS T712 NOBLA M600 TOBLI A453 BAH A791 KFA G663 SILNO A791 HIL UA791
KITOT UL550 NWB A791 MENLI DCT HECA (ILS RWY 05R).
The flight was uneventfull except strong headwind along the whole route with speed rising from 80 kts near OOMS
to more than 120 kts near HECA. This unavoidable wind caused delayed arrival (20 minutes).
After a short stay in Cairo we continued to Prague, CZ.
Route:
HECA (RWY 05R) DCT MENKU A1 AXD UL607 OTIKO A727 GESAD W3 ANTAR UN133 GUDIS UN137 KRC UN133 EVIVI UL863 RAVAK
UY505 BEO UM749 TUMPO UL858 OKF L858 TABEM STAR LKPR (ILS RWY 06)
With moderate tailwind, the flight time (airborne) was fifteen minutes shorter than planned. We arrived just at the time
of evening peak traffic.
The overnight stopover has been extended to two nights. We made a trip to a former military airbase in Milovice
(not far from Prague) on Saturday. The airport is a place , where George Lucas is making his new movie "Red Tails"
(read more here). Besides the WWII airbase we could watch warbirds like B-17, P-51D and others in action. Nice!

The final leg from Prague to Atlanta started on Sunday. Departure has been rescheduled from 9:10 GMT to 11:00 GMT.
There's no need to hurry on Sunday.

Weather was fine and the flight was smooth and fast except one hour of moderate turbulence and headwind 77kts
in the middle of North Atlantic. We encountered an INS failure after passing New York, therefore the rest of the flight
had been navigated using more conventional means without any problem. Aircraft weight allowed to reach FL510
above Newfoundland and fuel reserves allowed to increase airspeed to M0.87.
Total flight time OOMS-KATL (block time) is 17hrs 6mins , which seems to be 9 minutes less than planned.
Morning at OOMS. The red carpet will be laid in several minutes:
