Did You Know: AAS has some Preflight Weather Info?

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 26 Nov 2005 03:49

This is just something I thought that only a few pilots may have discovered so far. You can get the current weather information before a flight for any destination (airport ICAO) before starting your AAS flight.

This is how it is done...

After you start the program and BEFORE you click on START AAS button, if you click on the weather image (sun with a few clouds) in the Weather area it will prompt you for an airport ICAO. Just enter in any airport ICAO and if NOAA tracks the weather for that location, then it will display that airport's last reported weather information. See the following screenshots of changing the weather information from KTPA to KJFK before I started my AAS flight.

I hope you find it somewhat helpful on your next AAS flight.
Enjoy!

2. After clicking on the weather image a dialog box appeared where another airport ICAO can be entered.
