AAS Auto. Flight Annc. System (AFAS) Sound File Triggers

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 26 Nov 2005 03:39

The following is a list of Automated Flight Announcement System (AFAS) (a.k.a. In-flight Sounds) used within AAS and what triggers them to be played if the Inflight Sounds option is checked.

1. Loading passengers (0m43s): Immediately after clicking on the Fly Now button on Preflight screen and when the first time it detects you are no longer paused.

2. Safety video (2m54s): As soon as aircraft starts moving, usually during pushback and at least 10-20 seconds from when #1 ended.

3. Prepare for takeoff (0m03s): The first time the aircraft comes to a complete stop, where ground speed equals 0 after Safety video has finished playing, which is usually when holding short for takeoff.

4. Airborne, sit back and enjoy the flight (0m10s): Altitude > 3,000 feet and Preflight Cruise FltLvl >18,000 feet
or Altitude > 10% of Preflight Cruise FltLvl and Preflight Cruise FltLvl<=18,000 feet

5. Climbing to comfortable level (0m16s): Altitude > 10,000 feet and Cruise FltLvl >18,000 feet
or Altitude > 25% of Preflight Cruise FltLvl and Preflight Cruise FltLvl<=18,000 feet

6. Captain @ Flight Level (0m22s): Altitude > (Preflight Cruise FltLvl minus 100 feet)

7. Landing in about 15 mins. (0m37s): Altitude < (Preflight Cruise FltLvl minus 500 feet)

8. Prepare for landing (0m30s): Altitude < 12,000 feet and Preflight Cruise FltLvl >18,000 feet
or Altitude < 50% of Preflight Cruise FltLvl and Preflight Cruise FltLvl<=18,000 feet

9. Taxi to gate (0m34s): After landing and as soon as ground speed slows below 10 knots.

10. Remain seated until seatbelt sign is off (0m08s): After you set the parking brake at the gate.

NOTE: As of AAS v3.15:
Changed the checking of missing files: to every 2-3 days instead of 12-24+ hours. As long as the sndslist.txt file resides in the sounds subfolder it should only need to check about twice a week to see if any updates are needed. If you notice after using the program, either you dont have a sounds subfolder where AAS has been installed, or there is nothing in it, then you can manually create the sounds subfolder and download the following .ZIP and install the files to that folder. This will save alot of time during the program startup if these files dont have to try to be download each time to your PC. http://air-source.us/Operations/ActiveA ... sounds.zip
