AAS and a wmp.dll error

Postby Guest » 05 Aug 2007 16:52

Hey there,

I am unable to fire up AAS at the moment as I keep getting an error message that states:

Failed to load control 'WindowsMediaPlayer' from wmp.dll. Your version of wmp.dll may be outdated.

I haven't touched wmp.dll, but for some reason windows media player has stopped working completely (along with flash in internet explorer). I have tried for days to get this fixed but it seems the only way is a reinstall of Vista (which I am loathe to do as everything else is fine.

I use Firefox for internet anyway and another player for my movies etc so dont want to reinstall Vista just to get AAS to run again.

Any ideas? I have tried removing the sound folder from my AAS directory and associating the sound files with my usual media player but nothing works.

Thanks for reading folks, hope on of you has an answer,

Darren
