Must Complete Your Flights

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 25 Nov 2005 04:02

Hi All,

It has been brought to my attention that an alarming amount of flights are being filed but not completed. In case if you may or may not know, the AAS details of the last data send are saved and displayed on the PIREP details page.

Per the Employee Handbook section:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.2.2.0 Description of a ???complete??? flight

A flight is considered complete and is valid for PIREP after all of the following criteria have been met:

A. Successful takeoff from requested departure airport

B. All applicable flight rules are complied with during all phases of flight (see also section 2.1)

C. Aircraft coming to a full stop on the ground at either the planned arrival airport or deviation point per declared emergency.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By looking at the following data, it is obvious that this flight was incomplete (look at airspeed and other clues)...

[0] Division: SCH
[1] Fuel used: 18367 lbs.
[2] Fuel capacity as loaded by pilot: 155689 lbs.
[3] Altitude: 16576 ft.
[4] True Airspeed: 235 kts.
[5] Latitude: 50.874118 Longitude: 4.325695
[6] Aircraft state: ON APPROACH OR LOWER FL (AFAS)
[7] Aircraft: VC10 C1K RAF 2003
[8] AAS version: 3.22
[9] FSUIPC version: 2.970
[10] Flight Simulator version: FS2002
[11] Simulator local time: 8:27:00 PM
[12] Ground time: Ground Time Remaining: 56.8 mins
[13] Pre flight cruise level: 20500
[14] Pre flight est GS @ FL: 333
[15] Altimeter setting: 29.91

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please be sure to review the Employee handbook if you are unsure about what a complete flight is, emergency procedures and rules of filing a PIREP. Flights like the one above will not be tolerated and are subject to be removed without notice!
