Hard Landing

Postby Leemazz » 02 Jan 2009 18:19

On a routine cargo flight to Lagos in my brand new painted MD11 i attempted to land on runway 18L . Full auto-land was configured and everything was going well till about 80ft from the runway when the glideslope descended erratically and the aircraft flared and stopped it from turning into a disaster . After shaking my head at the poor attempt at an afcad i had downloaded i changed veiws to find ..... Disaster on the central landing gear , i was gutted .

Thanks Lee for the report, this is a problem often encountered (esp in FS9) where there appears to be an error occuring in the degree that is stipulated in the navaid setup for ILS in AFCAD for the particular airfield. Fine tuning should fix it so the problem doesn't occur again! Back to the paintshop?
