Inaugural Skytrax World Airline Awards Event!

Postby AS 2 Tom Little » 01 Jan 2020 16:53

Happy New Year! Are you feeling that you may be suffering from a virtual hangover? It is not just you! It is a tough transition from enjoying the Home for the Holidays Event to just going back to the day-to-day operations. So why should we have to have such an abrupt landing? We don’t! Members can enjoy a sequential event to kick off the new Year!

AirSource is proud to announce the inaugural World Airline Awards Event! What is it? Taking the top 10 airlines of 2019 as announced by Skytrax, AirSource Pilots shall enjoy the routes of their choice, utilizing all 10 airlines in consecutive flights.

Sound easy? It might be, depending on the top 10 airlines for the particular year. Every one of the top 10 airlines must be utilized one time (in any order) for a total of 10 consecutive flights; departure airport must be the same airport as the last one landed. Members may utilize any scheduled or special crew pass flight in the system. Event runs from 1 Jan until 31 Jan 2020. Since this is the first time we are running the event, PIREP comments for all flights must include “Skytrax2019” to assist in filtering the flights for validation and award issuing.

Pilots who complete this event will earn the 2019 SkyTrax award logo in their logbook along with a v$10,000 bonus! Let us all lift off 2020 with a celebration of the top airlines of last year, good luck!

Nice!!! Got my route planned, and I'll get started on it once I land my current flight in CYUL.

Thanks for coming up with new ways to keep us busy.

Thanks Tom, looks like fun. As soon as land at PANC, i'll get started...looks like I'll be headed back across the Pacific.

Emirates and Qatar are the trickiest for planning! :P

Here's the website I used for planning - https://www.flightconnections.com/fligh ... nkfurt-fra

I know we can only use each airlines once. Are there any restrictions on flying into any airport more than once?

RJBB - ZSPD - KBOS - EDDF - KJFK - VHHH - RCTP - VTBS - YSSY - WSSS - OTHH

Tho having re-read this, i fear i have used the wrong Keyword to log the flights!! HA.
Here is my map.

Liam,

I see you put "SKYTRAX" which will be okay, I'll fix the entries. Glad you enjoyed it, I don't think I've ever flown this many miles in a month before! :D

Sadly, I'll be 3 flights short on this one as real life has intruded on flying the last couple weeks.

But the 7 flights I did were fun: forced me to fly airlines I hadn't considered and areas I don't normally fly to.

Can't wait for the next event, thanks Tom!
