Embarking on a global tour

Postby paul01942 » 19 May 2021 19:27

I recently purchased my Piper Cherokee PA-28-140 Cruiser in the GA division, the aircraft was available to buy but was located in Milan, Italy at Malpensa Airport.

Once money exchanged hands the aircraft was mine, it was time to bring it home to Barton Aerodrome (EGCB) where the aircraft will be housed.

Once in possession of the aircraft I decided to take it on a tour, initially to a few points in Italy then across Europe to Barton Aerodrome. But swiftly decided that I wanted to take it on a long tour, so my plan is to fly the aircraft around the globe below are my flights so far.

LIMC - Milan Malpensa (purchase point)
LIRN - Naples (sight-seeing over Pompeii)
LICJ - Palermo (Carlo Gambino birthplace)
LICC - Catania
LIRA - Rome Ciampino (world's most beautiful city)
LFMN - Nice (where the rich play)
LIRQ - Florence (Duomo-Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore)
LSGG - Geneva (taking in the Alps)
EGJJ - Jersey
EGCB - Barton Aerodrome (Home)
EGPE - Inverness
EKVG - Vagaries, Faroe Islands (Land of cliffs)
BIAR - Akureyri, Iceland (volcano island)
BGCO - Nerlerit Inaat, Greenland
BGKK - Kulusuk, Greenland
BGGH - Nuuk Godthab, Greenland
CYFB - Iqaluit, Canada (Frozen wastelands)
CYVP - Kuujjuaq, Canada
CYWK - Wabush, Canada
CYBG - Bagotville, Canada
CYUL - Montreal (France in Canada)
KFRG - Republic Farmingdale (Long Island delight)
KLNS - Lancaster PA (relatives here)
KMYR - Myrtle Beach (fun in the sun)
KSAV - Savannah
55J - Fernandina Beach
KOMN - Ormond Beach Municipal
KCOI - Merritt Island
KLNA - Palm Beach Co Park
07FA - Ocean Reef Club
FL90 - North Captiva Airpark
KPIE - St Petersburg (love the beaches)
KISM - Kissimmee (Disney Fly over of course)
KDAB - Daytona Beach (speedway & NASA fly over)
KPNS - Pensacola

As my journey progresses I'll be sure to up date my next set of airport destinations as I head across the USA towards the furthest Alaskan Airport which is the closest to Russia.

Ciao for now Paul

So as my global tour in my dependable Piper Arrow continues, it see's me heading across the USA towards Canada then onto Alaska before reaching the coastline, next stop Russia, so from my last destination of Pensacola (KPNS) i continued to:

KHOT - Hot Springs, Arkansas
KDDC - Dodge City, Kansas
KBFF - Heilig Scottsbluff, Nebraska
KGCC - Gillette, Wyoming (Small tour of Devils Tower as well)
KGTF - Great Falls, Montana
CYYC - Calgary International
CYXS - Prince George

Once I've reached Prince George I'll of flown a whopping 10565nm, using 6203lbs of fuel at a combined cost (Avgas £1.65pl) totalling £10,234.95
