Airport Search Request.

Postby milo221 » 25 Nov 2011 17:35

Tom,

I was looking to see if I could find if an aircraft was located at the airport I wanted to fly out of... and I discovered that there is currently no way to search for that(unless I missed it somewhere).

Is there any way we could have the functionality to enter in an airport ICAO and it would list what planes were there if any and/or the planes within a set radius of the airport we were looking for?

Just figured I'd ask... :)

Thanks for looking,

-Dave

Hey Dave,

I have seen other Virtual sites that have that detailed function.
But I have only found here is that if you go to the "Home Page"
and look at the right column, and under the blue banner of
"Active AirSource" you will see a little green lit TV icon that
says "AirMap Here". Click on that and it will give you a map
and paths of all AAS aircraft paths in the air. If you click on
the colored dot of that path, it will give you the name of the
pilot. But if you scroll down to the bottom of the map you will
see that pilot's name. Click on his name and it will give you
details of what aircraft and his position in flight and where
he started and where he will end up etc. Don't know if that is
what you were expecting but that is just what I know. And
if you find something better let me know also. I know that
some virtual airlines have aircraft stowed away at specific
ICAO's to purchase or lease that are picked up at different
airports. There is data found on here that gives details
of aircraft assigned to different airlines etc., but it is just
that....data.

Hope this helps!
