What is a Freelance flight?

Postby cbrdriver » 16 Aug 2015 02:23

So, while scheduling a flight, I see that freelance flights have been suspended ufn.

I went into the handbook to see that section 2.0.2.1 that covers freelance flights has been amended, and there seems to be no explanation.

What exactly does that mean?

Thanks

Actually, it looks like that section was removed, but the Table of Contents not updated.

2.0.2.1 (in the body) is the GA section, which should be 2.0.2.2 according to the TOC.

As for Freelance Flights...before my time. I could be wrong but I think it might refer to pilot created commercial airline flights (i.e. not in the schedule)?

That is correct Joe, we used to have member-created flights that would be used when the flight wasn't loaded on to the website here. But due to excessive inaccuracy we dropped that option.
