AN-225 BID FLIGHT

Postby AS37 Norm Edwards » 29 Dec 2010 18:29

I've posted a rarely seen bid flight for the mighty AN-225 which very recently flew into Kish Island in Iran for an airshow. So for those Russian aircraft fans, or if you really want a challenge flying this beast, head over to the Bid Division, you'll find the bid sitting in the Weekly Contracts Section.

I remember when that beast flew in to Phoenix at Williams Gateway (the old Williams AFB). When it left the next day they had to shut down all three runways. Williams being in the desert there's VERY little ground cover. The runways had to be completely swept free of dirt blown around by the 225's engines on take off. I had a picture of it taking off with this HUGE dust cloud billowing behind it.

Wow 3 runways shut down by just one aircraft!!! I guess it produces much more jet wash than the ole B52!
Great to hear from you Sonja and best wishes to you for 2011 :)
