Paul, a question regarding N707JT-007-TOUR02 . It's listed as a Multi-Leg flight but I don't see where the stopover is? Also...what is the reason he stopped somewhere...the 707 can carry more than enough fuel for this as a single leg?

Hi Vic,

He probably did the route none stop when i trawled through the internet to try and obtain a flight plan that he flew, i could not locate any what i did find was a picture of his aircraft on the ground in Honolulu around the time when the toue was underway, so i kind of put two and two together, your probably right he may well of done it direct, please feel free to fly the legs as you see fit, the Tokyo to London Heathrow i have put via UUEE Moscow but if you want to go direct please feel free again i had to guess on these legs sorry

Paul, I was refering to the WSSS-VHHH leg (#7)? When I click on the map provided on that leg's page...I can't really see the route. I can understand the stop in Honolulu (leg #2) as KLAX-NZAA is a tad out of the 707-100 range. Just wondering.

Hi Vic,
an error by myself sorry i have now removed all the "multi-routes" from the bids section, they are all infact single routes directly flown, i have changed the EDDF (Frankfurt) to KJFK (New York) also after looking at the direct routing for this flight it appears its only 3331.9nm's so the Boeing 707 should easily make this routing direct, so the only multi leg routes on this trip is KLAX (Los Angeles) to NZAA (Auckland) vie PHNL (Honolulu) and RJAA (Tokyo Narita) to EGLL (London Heathrow) via UUEE (Moscow Sheremetyevo) the rest are direct.

Sorry about the confusion

Well I have completed the tour!!!!! (excluding the two 17FL legs) i have flown the entire tour starting in Los Angeles flyi ng right round the world and finishing back in Los Angeles my routin miles and times are as follows.
LAX-AKL - 5658nm - 13hrs 24 minutes inc fuel stop in Honolulu
AKL-SYD - 1165nm - 3hrs 36 minutes
SYD-MEL - 381nm - 1hr 36 minutes
MEL-PER - 1457nm - 4hrs 06 mnutes
PER-SIN - 2111nm - 4hrs 48 minutes
SIN-HKG - 1384nm - 3hrs 36 minutes
HKG-NRT - 1958nm - 3hrs 30 minutes
NRT-LHR - 5175nm - 12hrs inc fuel stop in Moscow
LHR-FCO - 779nm - 2hrs 36 minutes
FCO-CDG - 594nm - 2hrs 30 minutes
CDG-FRA - 242nm - 1hr 12 minutes
FRA-JFK - 3340nm - 7hrs 18 minutes
JFK-LAX - 2144nm - 4hrs 11 minutes

Total miles flown 26388nm, Total hours for tour 63hrs 38 minutes

I hope other will give it a try, i know its a long routing but well worth the effort, it was a great set of flights flying on a truely unique aircraft, the Boeing 707 is an amazing aircraft to fly looks great when your taxiing around the worlds airport in such an old classic jet, with all the newer aircraft buzzing around.

For those of you trying the tour or those who are already flying it good luck and enjoy.

Yeah should have added them really not to worry but it was a very good tour really enjoyed the routings, been scouring the internet for any kind of routings or flight plans that John Travolta has flown in his Boeing 707, there are alot of pictures on airliners.net of destinations he has been to, just dont know what routing he used, destinations such as Ostend, London Gatwick, Le Borguet, Munich, Dubai, Brisbane, Longreach, etc also various destinations in the USA?

The link you put on your message Vic will it work with Flightsim FSX??????

Postby paul01942 » 30 Aug 2010 08:25

Hi Vic,

are you not flying the JT tour now? do you know where i might beable to find some of JT's flight plans that he has flown in the 707 want to add them onto the site, shame more people aren't giving the tour a go, i found it it very enjoyable, there are a couple of long flights but the others were all very good, it is a great series of flights, especially in the 707 which has its own dynamic flying regimes.

Come on fellow simmers try the tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am flying the tour...I'm on leg 7. All the flights I recreated with JT's 707 were on Flightaware...but now he has blocked Flightaware from posting that info so you can't get the info anymore. I didn't save any of them...just flew them when they showed up. Too bad, but I'm guessing that it was a privacy concern for him. I'm pretty sure, in his position, I would do the same.
