MSFS 2020

Postby Leemazz » 02 Apr 2023 10:16

Anybody else have a nightmare setting up MSFS 2020 .

Problems with controllers , AI , planes , everything .
I have not flown now for about a month . Skysims MD11 is shocking , the minute you throttle up it just goes nose up .

Im almost at the point where im going back to FSX

Hi Lee,

I have MSFS2020 but do not have that plane. Not sure I can help but can try? Also Flightsim.com and AVSIM.com have pretty helpful folks that usually help with technical issues as well as of course the MSFS forums too.

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/

https://www.flightsim.com/forums/forum/ ... iscussion/

Of note, a quick search on Avsim located this troubling post regarding this plane: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/6264 ... mulations/

Are you having issues with all planes or just the MD-11?

And it sounds like controller is biggest issue to fix first - what controller do you have?

Ok cool. Don't you turn on or plug in the gaming pad before starting MSFS? I know that MSFS has been known to crash if turning off controllers while MSFS is running (turning on while MSFS is running may cause problems too).

I use AIG but with live traffic so not sure how that works.

I have some issues getting all my Saitek stuff to work properly with EACH plane. With some they work great, with others not so much.

I DO use Spad.NEXT which is supposed to help, but it isn't always just plug and play these days. It also hurts that Asobo/MS hasn't really opened the full API interface yet. I guess that there have been so many rewrites and new code to make MSFS202 happen that things are drastically different. than previous version. I also get the feeling that Asosbo/MS is being picky about how, what and who they release all the API to. I think they really want to have everything curated and certified through the in app storefront. Which is good and bad at the same time.

I guess its just the same as previous versions like FSX which all had issues when released , it looks amazing but the views and buttons take some setting up .

It doesnt help the fact i got a new PC for MSFS and the hard drive failed after a month
