Now that VATSIM id's are stored in our logbooks, I am going to program the main page so that if you are connected to VATSIM while flying using MyAAS, there will be an indicator to show VATSIM connection.

For all you that say you're skeered to give it a whirl - get your feet wet with short hops from small airports in an area that doesn't have a controller, or much traffic in the area.

My picks thus far have been in a variety of GA, BizJet and AS-Classic aircraft (727 and Swearingen Metro III).

KFAT-KSJC
KPDX-KSEA
KBFL-KBUR

I've been away for ~10 years, and had to reactivate. So far, so good.

Hello Tom,

Here is my Vatsim ID: 848480

I don't think that I have flown for AirSource on there in a while though. :(

Hope this helps in some way.

Thanks,

-Dave

"I don't think that I have flown for AirSource on there in a while though"

Is there something special that we need to do when using Vatsim to show that we are flying for Airsource?

It used to be preferred to use call sign "ASO", and might still be - but when I submit all of the VATSIM ID's I am going to reiterate that AirSource is unique and we should be able to use ANY call sign since we can fly for any real world airline with a valid schedule.

Now that I have the ID's loaded into our database, we will be able to cross reference them and display on the main page when you're on VATSIM as well. This is a planned feature.

I really like that idea Tom. Since starting to do Vatsim flights I've only been using the correct call signs (i.e. BAW112) as that's what I thought I was supposed to do (and I haven't seen any onther ASO call signs on Vatspy). I would happily use the ASO code if that's what the company asked for, I just needed some confirmation as to what the correct protocol is for Airsource.
