DC-10 final passenger service

Postby R_Aldrich » 07 Dec 2013 17:07

So, today marks the final scheduled passenger flight of the DC-10, anyone else going to do a remembrance flight? I'm planning on doing a classic UAL flight from PHL to ORD...

I never flew on the DC-10 in real life, but flew on her cousin the MD-11 once.. A flight from Atlanta to Salt Lake City, an enroute leg returning home to Anchorage from Basic Training in the Army in 1991.. The MD-11 was a nice plane, and I wish I could have spent time on the DC-10, but as a kid my parents flew Braniff, Piedmont, and Eastern mostly (the few times we actually flew that is, lol.. my dad was Air Force, but hated flying.. definite head scratcher there)

It has been re-scheduled and is continuing to fly until the end of the month , it is then coming to the UK (EGBB) where it is operating some 1 hour flights before onward flight to Seattle

cool.. hadn't heard about the reschedule..

pretty good deal, as I was unable to make my flight due to a minor emergency here on the home front..

thanks for the info!
