Are you prepared for the leap second?

On 30th June 2012, the last minute of that day will consist of 61 seconds. It's all to do with the earth's rotation and axis etc - won't get into the science too much (maybe our resident science expert will : ) But anyhow, what are you going to do with the extra second? Does it make a difference? For me, it's another extra second flying with AirSource :)

First I've heard of it - like it!!! My extra second will go toward programming AirSource this time...

E) A LEAP SECOND WILL BE ADDED TO UTC ON 01 JULY 2012 AT 1000 EST
(30 JUNE 2012 2359 UTC).
NOTICE ADVISORY TO NAVSTAR USERS (NANU) 2012034 REFERS (AVAILABLE
FROM HTTP://WWW.NAVCEN.USCG.GOV).
BEFORE THE LEAP SECOND ADDITION GPS-UTC WILL BE 15 SECONDS AHEAD OF
UTC AFTERWARDS GPS-UTC WILL BE 16 SECONDS AHEAD OF UTC.
GNSS NAVIGATION SYSTEM OPERATION SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED BUT
OPERATORS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE CHANGE IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF AN
INDIVIDUAL GNSS SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. CMC HAVE ADVISED THE CMA-5024
GNSSU MAY NOT INITIALISE CORRECTLY IN THE 6 HOURS BEFORE AND AFTER
THE CHANGE CMA-5024 USERS SHOULD REFER TO CMC SIL-12-06 FOR
