The AirSource Honour Medal is the highest award that can be granted to a rostered pilot. Its prime purpose is to recognise longstanding service, dedication, and primarily the fulfilling of positions throughout their service that have significantly contributed to the AirSource Virtual Pilot Union as a whole. The Medal can only be awarded by the AirSource Chief and AirSource President and nominations for the Medal are not entertained.
It is with great pleasure that Tom and I are able to announce the award of the AirSource Honour Medal to the following four long serving individuals:
AS30 Ron Reed. Ron was the first ever ASHA Division Commander and was instrumental in setting up the Division and kicking it off to a start. He joined AirSource on 1 Mar 2000 and has since served with distinction throughout this period. He has been a stalwart support of the Division since stepping down as Division Commander and supports AirSource in the other Divisions. Well done and congratulations Ron!
AS57 Jeff Summers. Jeff joined AirSource on 25 February 2002 and has also served as an ASHA Division Commander. His energy and resolve during his period as SDO (Schedule Development Officer) in the Division enabled many pilots to enjoy the missions he set up. Jeff has also served as a Contract Development Officer in the Bid Flight Division where he has consistently performed to a high standard to meet the needs of our rostered pilots. Well done Jeff and congratulations to you.
AS174 Neil Cook. Neil previously served as VP Bid Flight Division over quite a period of time having joined AirSource on 7 September 2001. Neils pragmatic approach to the Bid Division enabled it to grow and gain a reputation as the place to go whenever an event was happening. He designed and delivered many very interesting and creative events, much to the enjoyment of those that participated. Congratulations Neil, very well deserved.
AS195 Jim Skorna. Jim is the current ASHA Division Commander and joined AirSource on 6 December 2002. He has served for a very long time in the ASHA Division starting out as an SDO, receiving senior rank before taking over as the Division Commander. His analytical approach to the Division has meant that it has continued to be the Division of choice for many rostered pilots. Congratulations Jim and thanks for your continued contribution.
I'm sure all will join Tom and I in congratulating the above recipients, much of what you see today would have been missing without their previous input.
