turbocharged Baron 58?

Postby vic365 » 26 Dec 2009 22:21

I've tried a few and the fuel flows and various other things are way off, it seems to me. Does anyone here have Ross Aldrich's RAM Aircraft, Inc. Beechcraft Baron 58P/TC (AVSIM file name beechcraft_baron_58p-tc.zip)? The file is no longer available at AVSIM.

Thanks buddy...already tried that version. Completely unreal..."normalized" turbocharging should not triple your fuel flow? Don't remember if this is the Baron TC that climbed at 350 KIAS (!!) or not but both versions Ive tried are ridiculously high on fuel flow.

Finally found a friendly simmer at AVSIM who had the original Ross Aldrich RAM aircraft Baron 58 turbo upgrade. What a little Hot Rod!...and it actually has expected performance. Cruises at 190 at 11,000 ft. maintains a solid 130-140 KIAS up to there at 1500 fpm(does NOT climb at 2500 fpm and 300 KIAS! LOL!). Fuel flows are within reason, compared to the other TC' Barons I've tried. It's a beauty. Gauges (fuel flow, fuel tank levels, etc.) are off...Ross never figured out how to adjust the gauges for the TC upgrade, which has long range tanks, so that the fuel amounts and flows are correct on the panel. But it climbs at 45 gph (I was pushing her pretty hard on my first flight) and cruises at 185kias with 28 gph fuel flow (calculated...not panel guage).

I talked to Ross last week and hopefully he will re-upload to AVSIM at some point. She's the only 58 TC I've found which is anywhere near reality...and she's pretty sweet.
