MD11 fans

Fans of the MD11 checkout this new operator in Avient Aviation . I predicted this a few months back with a paint of the PMDG MD11 , i just never expected them to paint it like they have . I think it looks awful .

Checkout this monstrosity or maybe you might like it .

Also looks like Centurion Air Cargo have just lost one of their MD11s in a landing accident at SUMU similar to the Narita Fedex landing but didnt flip over . The main landing gear is badly damaged along with the wing spar so bets are its a write off . Looks like the ex Varig and Gemini machine is spare parts now . Thats the second MD11 to land heavy in two weeks as a Lufthansa Cargo is sat in Mexico  .

Love it as well Lee - I know what you mean about it looking a bit strange, but I like 'em a bit quirky.

Greetings from the same part of the world by the way - about 6 miles from EGCC

Hello Neil glad you like it too . Your a bit closer to the airport than me im kind of stuck in the middle with Leeds Bradford but closer to Manchester . About 20 miles from me . Oh and look out for the Lufthansa MD-11s their operating cargo flights from Kentucky stopping in Manchester on there way to frankfurt not sure how long for though .

I'll keep an eye out for the Lufthansa flights Lee, I work directly under the flight path so can see nearly everything that comes over

Well in its first week operating for Avient the MD-11 has crashed on takeoff from Shanghai Pudong . Tragically three of the crew were killed . Very sad .

I was reading that last night Lee, looks like a tail strike by all reports, very sad indeed.

Yes it was Mark . Tail strike and then it left the runway . The aircraft had been parked for 18 months previous to the delivery plus a new operator . So so so sad .
