Postby kingsak » 05 Feb 2009 15:19

Just went from FS98 directly to FSX. What a HUGE difference! WOW!
Now...What's my best choices for a joystick?
Will AAS / MyAAS work with Vista??
Where's my freeware aircraft? I'm broke now!

For a joystick, it depends on how much tyou want to spend. I have a Saitek ST290 that works pretty good. it's USB and cost me about 25-30 bux.

As for aircraft. While there's not as much Freeware for FSX as there is for FS2004, there's still a good selections.

Premier Aircraft company
Project Opensky
Project Airbus

that will get you some of the basics.

Longitech Attack III joystick ought to do it. It's not very fancy but i've got atleast 150 hours on mine.

Saitek EVO Force is what I use and love it. Its a force feedback stick so you feel the forces on controls, you feel turbulance, gear extending and retracting, bumps in the pavement, well you get the point. And the price is around 60 or so.
