Fly Online or Offline

Postby TheDude71 » 05 Jan 2009 00:07

Just wondering how many folks fly online or offline. And if you fly online what client do you use, squawkbox or FSInn?? Also I am still getting the no connection with team speak.

I fly on VATSIM using FSInn. Although Squawkbox imho is easier to use, FSInn offers more, especially what is in the associated FSCopilot package which contains some useful stuff for offline flight as well.

rgr that. I tried FSInn, just didn't like it. Been with SB for a long time. Anyhow, since I can not get team speak to work, I have set up a private voice channel through SB. Server address: rw.liveatc.net Channel: as/unicom

So if anyone who is online at the same time would like to join the channel, here is one. I will keep trying to trouble shoot team speak but until then this is the best I can do.

Its always nice to have someone to talk to during the long hauls.

I used to fly online in both IVAO and VATSIM using Sq. box in this last one. Now I fly mostly offline enjoying my 90 % AITraffic :)

I fly almost all my flights ONLINE on VATSIM. But then considering my role in VATSIM it explains why I do!

 I fly offline but I use Real Wx There are 3 of us that share a Clearwire account so when all 3 of us are online band width shrinks. how ever 15$ month for Internet isnt bad.

rgr that. All my flight are online with Vatsim. It has become a habit and does not feel right if I'm not connected. Though, I have thought about getting a traffic program, ultimate traffic or something like that, but now I remember that the flightsim ATC drives me nuts......

I fly exclusively OFFline and I don't apologize for it one minute. In deference to my wife who lets me fly 200 - 250 hours a month -- so long as I turn the Virtual Copilot on every once in a while and help with the dishes.

I always always always fly extremely loaded up - preflight usually takes me over an hour: I use Dispatch Planner X for fuel planning, FSNavigator or FS Build for flight planning, FS Passengers for realism and responsibility, 70% World of AI, either Radar Contact or Pro Flight Emulator, and FDC Live Cockpit for Co-Pilot functionality. Oh and I always fly "on-line" with AAS. 8)

I do both, kinda.

When I do my flights online (90% of my flights) I use VATSIM. I use FSINN, I actually find that more useful and user friendly than SQKBox... I'm just nuts :)

When I'm not flying online, I'm usually doing some other stuff, like web programming projects that are piling up on me. I find a nice long 6 hour flight is actually the perfect time to do work. :)

And then since I'm not using my VATSIM ID, I can always do some controlling as well.

But I use FSPAX (Christmas gift from my wonderful wife), like somebody said, it adds a whole dimension to flying.

or a long time I flew offline with Airsource, my other VA being always online. I don't use AI for PC reasons, so since just before Xmas I have been on VATSIM. Being in the UK and flying in the early morning all Delta flights recently, not much ATC but sometimes it is OK with control online.

I fly primary online with VATSIM amassing 8600 hours as a pilot and 870 hours as ATC.

My offline flights would account for less than 1% of my flights.

FSPAX is cool, I need to reinstall it. Makes flying just that more fun. Quick question....I had to reinstall my OS on my C drive, but all my FS programs are on my D drive. After reinstallation of my OS the registery was rewritten and all fs stuff had to be reinstalled. Is there anyway around this??

Thanks
